You'll Just Have to Take My Word For it...

The kids had a really great time at the fair, but I left the camera at home charging, so I have no pictures to show for it. Both boys truly enjoyed seeing all the animals. In fact, when we asked Noah what the cows said he's even started saying, "Mmmm" like he's trying to say "Mooo," but not getting the second syllable yet. It's so funny and he's so proud of himself. Fisher, on the other hand was very intrigued by the animals but preferred being held as we walked through the barns. I set him down for a few minutes while we were checking out the goats when he said, "Mom, would you carry me? I'm a little bit nervous." Can you imagine anything cuter? Speaking of cute, you all must be thinking to yourselves, "Show us some new photos of those little cherubs", well...

Recently we've tossed around the idea of getting Noah's hair cut, but I don't want to yet, he's my baby. The reason this topic is coming up, is that Andy has discovered a striking resemblance between Noah and Ben Franklin (short hair on top and a curl of long hair over the ears).

Whatever, it just makes me more adamant to let it grow, I think it's adorable, and besides neither Noah or I are ready for him to have a big boy hair cut like his brothers.

Last weekend Fisher and Noah got to meet Baby Adrian. Noah was so excited he really wanted nothing more than to touch that sweet baby while I was holding him. Fisher was happy to meet his new cousin too, but it's really hard to pull him away from all the fun things at the Spencer's farm like his cousins swing set, chickens, and of course Uncle Shandy's tractor.

Last weekend we were driving to my parents saturday afternoon when we stumbled upon the Garfield Township Fire Station Open House, what a great discovery that was.

I know I owe it to all of you but I REALLY owe it to myself to take some time to be with my thoughts to do some better journaling on here. But it's not going to be tonight, so I'll get back to you soon with some bigger thoughts, until then Night, Night.

I think I may have a few minutes...

Lately, the boys haven't been napping at the same time, so a few moments to myself are becoming few and far between. But alas, today they nap simultaneously! I'll try to fill you in a little on what our little guys have been up to-

We'll start with Noah. He's babbling a lot. I think he's trying to say so much more than we're picking up but I definitely know we've heard him say, Hi, Mama, Dada, Ball, and Dog. He's really been enjoying music, he dances and plays the belly drums, and the other day he was trying to sing "Happy Birthday" with his brother (to no one in particular, mind you). He has a grand total of eight teeth, his mood and a low grade fever and diaper rash that come and go lead me to believe he has more on the way. He's walking better now, he has his fair share of tumbles still, but he's definitely gaining speed! Overall, he's a pretty content little guy who loves to explore. His brother and I have been teaching him to raise his hands when we ask, "How big is Noah?" He's picking up on it and he's so proud of himself he smiles from ear to ear!

The big kid has been busy too, he's been loving summertime, his dad's been teaching him to hit a ball with his plastic bat off of a tee (sort of, actually it's a 2-liter bottle, it's a little embarasing, but just the right height). He's been enjoying riding his two-wheel bike too (with training wheels for now). It's adorable to watch such a little guy with a great big helmet, pedaling as fast as his legs will go. He and I have been trying to have some quality time set aside for learning while Noah naps. I've been trying to research pre-reading skills to work on during those times. Yesterday, for example, we worked on making patterns with the colored blocks as well as talking about the shapes and colors.

Tonight we have plans to go to the fair, so hopefully the weather holds since we've already told the boys about our plans to go see the animals. I hope to have pictures to post soon.

Quick Update!

First and foremost Andy's sister, Penny had a baby boy on his due date August 14th! Yeah, we have a nephew, our nieces have a brother, and Penny and Shandy have a son! His name is Adrian Jack and he was an even 8 pounder just like his sisters. He was born at home, Mom and baby are healthy and beautiful! Chick him out! Congrats Spencers!

Catching Up

I failed to wish the love of my life a Happy 33rd Birthday on the 10th of this month (officially on this blog, I mean). We had a nice dinner at home and just spent some time as a family to celebrate. Fisher slipped and gave away the surprise that we had gotten Andy a new bike helmet. It wasn't a super exciting gift to begin with (you have the same bike helmet for ten years, it's probably time for a new one), so I think Fisher's slipping made it seem a little more fun. Fisher and I made Daddy a card and a special dessert while Noah was napping, and announced his birthday with sidewalk chalk to welcome him home from yet another trip to the big city of Birmingham, Michigan! Actually he's been doing a lot of work on the client's previous home in West Bloomfield in an attempt to help get that house sold. Noah loved hearing "Happy Birthday" again, I think he thought we were singing to him again, he got all smiley while Fisher and I sang.

So even though I am late, I truly do celebrate who you are to the boys and I, Andy, on your birthday and always. I love you!
