We're Home

and we're not exactly thrilled about being back in the snow. It will only take a couple pictures for you to figure out why. I'll post the narrative of our trip later but thought I'd post a couple pictures just to keep you up to date.

Drumming, packing, cleaning, oh my!

THREE MORE DAYS UNTIL OUR AIRPLANE RIDE! The most exciting news around here is that we decided that making the drive to Florida with two kids under three just wouldn't have been a pleasant experience for anyone, so we're flying instead! So I've been packing for a while, which is actually so much fun for me, looking through the boys clothes to see the new stuff I stashed and the old stuff that still fits. And if we weren't busy enough thinking about vacation, Andy decided that it would be a good idea to have the realtor over to get his input on what we should be doing to get the house ready to sell in the next year or so. That was this morning so we tried to do some cleaning to get ready for his visit even though he was just coming for an initial walk through. Also for the last week, it sounds like we had a case of the same flu/cold bug that's been going around all over Northern Michigan. Noah's had it the worst running a bit of a fever, not eating much and being so congested he can't breathe well enough to sleep with his beloved "Pasa" (pacifier) in his mouth. Poor little dude, I walked past his room on my way to bed the other night and even over the hum of the humidifier and the door closed, if I hadn't known any better I would have sworn there was an old man snoring away in there and not my 19 month old angel. After a couple of very rough nights sleep I decided that there was possibly an ear infection too, to blame for all this fussiness. Yesterday at the doctor's office I found I was wrong, he had not one but two ear infections! Sorry little guy, we should have those cleared up by the time we fly out on sunday assuming those amazing antibiotics do as they are intended.

Last week Andy had his drums home from church and the boys were absolutely thrilled about it, Mom on the otherhand, not so much. Except for the fact that I have to admit it's a joy to see them having so much fun. Fisher told Andy, "Dad I don't want to be a guitar player anymore, I want to be a drummer!" He melted his Daddy's heart with that one. Just tonight at dinner he was talking about his band with Riley and Aiden. "Riley plays the guitar, I play the drums, and Aiden play the hoot." (That's his word for horn/saxaphone)So Fisher has this habit of twirling his hair right at the top of his head (see picture below). It's really sweet really, but with his blond hair always sticking up on top with the constant twirling, he's developing this slight resemblance to Dennis the Menace. Today, for example I wet his hair after nap to flatten the top and an hour later we were at the grocery store and I realized it was sticking up again when the clerk complimented his hairstyle. He twirls it when he's just woken up, when he starts getting tired, when he's falling asleep in bed, any time he rides in the car, watching a video, relaxing on the toilet and just about any other activity that only requires one hand. I'm mostly kidding because I really do think it's one of the sweetest things I've ever seen. How could you not?
Hopefully for my next post I'll have some sunshine to share. It'll be our first vacation since the boys, can't wait!
