The Main Events

Here are a few pictures from Cherry Festival Week and of course Noah's Birthday. We have had a busy couple weeks but have enjoyed every minute. I know these are oldish, but every time I post I think I need to do this more often so I don't have quite so much to include in each post and then I never do. So I'll get these pictures up and get back to you on the details soon.

Happy Birthday Baby Boy!

Happy Birthday little guy! We love you so very much and can't imagine our lives without you in it. We couldn't be more thankful God gave us you a year ago today. You're a walking, smiling, giggling little guy who is curious about everything right now. We look forward to watching you grow and learn in the coming years.

Then There's Me

I LOVE summertime. I love everything about it I love thunderstorms, hot sunny days, the smell of fudge from the shops downtown, pushing a double stroller, beach sand between my toes, grilling, sunglasses and a healthy glow so I don't have to wear make-up, the smell of sunscreen, swinging in a porch swing, farmers markets, being barefoot, flowers, freshly cut grass, bubbles, sand dunes and sidewalk chalk to name a few. Oh and I am a junkie for parades and fireworks!

I've been having a great summer trying to soak up every minute with the boys. You know what I enjoy even more than watching a parade or fireworks though? Watching my boys enjoy these things- last week we went to the Junior Royale Parade in TC and Noah, my little busy body who barely slows down at meal time, sat entranced by each float and band that went by. Fisher sat on my Dad's lap and waved his little American Flag at anyone who happen to glance in his direction. As Andy and I watched Fisher go around the track of a train ride at the miday I commented to him that I now understood what my parents were talking about all those times they didn't want anything more than to see my sister and I having fun. They would do things for us girls and when I asked them what they wanted to do they're reply was usually that they just wanted to see us happy. I think one time my dad even said, "You'll understand when you have kids." Do you ever have those moments that you just feel so happy or fulfilled that you can't contain it and you can't help but giggle to yourself, that's how I felt when I saw Fisher riding that train, waving and smiling at us as he rounded the track. You were right Dad, I get it now!

Andy

Since I don't often mention much about Andy and I thought I'd try to devote a couple blog entries to what the two of us are up to. I'll start with my main squeeze. He's been very busy with work. As of January 1st of this year he and one of the other foreman, Greg Troyer were both named Vice President of Porter Builders. Since then Andy has been acting as Feild Superintendent (supervising some of the other foremen), learning the process of giving quotes to potential clients, and working with suppliers. Ed's also entrusted him with working with a photographer to develop ad layouts for Traverse the Magazine. When he hasn't been working away from home he's been working hard to wrap up the ongoing construction projects around here and it's really been paying off. Andy replaced the siding on the house two summers ago and then last summer got most of the house painted (as well as reroofed) so this summer he's been replacing the soffet and painting and replacing trim. Over the last year he also covered the front porch, so he's been putting a tonge and groove ceiling in it. And of course at the end of his work day the boys both get excited to see their daddy walk in the door. Fisher enjoys the times Andy takes him over to the parking lot at the school to practice riding his tricycle. Andy's decided that Fisher's ready for a bike with training wheels now, so you'll hear about that soon, I'm sure. Noah grins and giggles when Andy comes home too, I think he's more motivated to walk to Andy than anyone right now, he'll take three of four steps and then fall into him giggling all the way. Tha's What he's up to, I'll try to post about me in the next couple days. Chow!
