We've been back a week...

I think we're getting back into the regular swing of things around here. In spite of experiencing a bit of illness, we had a GREAT time in Florida. Fisher had one night of vomiting all night long but the next day after a morning nap was ready to hit the pool again. What a trooper!

What a great break, we went on lots of walks, went swimming at the pool daily, checked out some birds and alligators, cruised the everglades in an airboat, went for a boat cruise on the ocean, played at the beach, went to a waterpark and finished out the week at the Lowry Park Zoo in Tampa. The weather was beautiful- one cool overcast day (you know, 70s) the day after we got there- but still a good day for the airboat ride. The rest of the week it was in the 80s and sunny. Grandma and Bill even treated us by watching the kids a couple nights while Andy and I got to go out on a couple dates. What a treat! We couldn't have asked for more hospitable accomodations either. We were spoiled with meals and Grandma wisking the kids away for a walk or to play while we took our time getting ready in the morning while drinking local orange juice and eggs and bacon she had prepared us- yummy, I'm salivating just thinking about it. She even helped me with the laundry!

As a result of spending so much time in the water Fisher is swimming! It's amazing to see, it makes me gitty just to watch him. His favorite is jumping from the wall and swimming to Andy or I (see the picture in the previous post). He puts his face in to swim and he's even gotten to the point that if he needs a breath he comes up for a breath and puts his face back in to continue swimming. So cool! Can you tell how proud I am? Noah's grown so much more comfortable in the water too, he loves his water wings and stays horizontal in the water, the swim instructor in me loves it!

Another great thing about the trip was the opportunity Grandma Louise and Grandpa Bill had to get to know the boys better, you know how it is with kids, they can be a little slow to warm up to people, but after a day or two the boys were so comfortable with them, Fisher was teasing them and Noah (our little eater) was stealing food off their plates. Grandma couldn't believe all the words Noah was able to communicate. It's neat to hear other people notice his communication, sometimes I feel like I'm translating for him, but Grandma understood nearly everything he said.

It's been a very tough couple of days back for me, I not only had all my household responsibilities again but the kids had grown very used to having the attention of four adults all the time. I think that covers it, sorry we're tardy in getting you the details, but I feel like I just finished our vacation laundry!
