A Victorious Sunday
We had a very busy day, Andy got up early to start prepping to complete the last couple things on the bathroom. He spent the weekend painting the ceiling and the trim with the spray gun which does a great job, but there's so much prep work when your spraying! He put the final touches on the bathroom this afternoon and then I cleaned it this evening so it is officially 100% complete, okay well he still has to put a new doorknob on the door, but he didn't have a locking one here so he couldn't do that today, but here are the results. It's not a very large bathroom, but it's perfect. I love it. And the best part you can't even experience from the pictures, but the heated floor is such a treat.
And the big news is that at noon today I participated in a non-competitive traithalon to benefit the breast cancer support groups in Charlevoix and Emmet Counties. Most of the women involved form teams and each do a leg of the event, so I did the biking portion which was a 20K. A friend from the pool did the 1/2 mile swim and a friend of hers ran the 5k. I had mentioned doing it a while back and then sort of dropped it but about a month ago Andy mentioned it again and encouraged me to do it. I'm so glad he did. I had a really good ride, it was nice to push myself a little. I want to do it again next year, maybe I'd swim if someone else wants to do the biking, maybe Penny? There were quite a few Breast Cancer Survivors who participated and so many people doing it in honor of someone battling the disease or in memory of someone they'd lost to breast cancer. It was a really neat event. Andy and the boys saw me off at the start and made a couple stops along the way to cheer me on, it felt good to have them cheering me on. The event is so non-competitive that they don't really even time you, but since Andy had the video camera at both the begining and the end with the counter on it, we were able to figure out that I finished in just under 50 minutes.
Since the blog world can't get enough photos of my boys here's a little of what we've been up to. We're so glad the weather's nice again!
